A Snapshot of Your Day 

Every project manager has a different routine developed on the basis of their preference pertaining to the project they are handling.

However, it is a good habit to communicate with your stakeholders (i.e., Engineering, Finance, Procurement, etc.) and clients on a daily basis.

How You’ll Make an Impact 

You will lead the execution of electrical substation projects within energy transmission sector. Your involvement in the project starts during the tender phase and it continues all the way through execution until the projects is handed over to Services (Operations). 

In Siemens Energy, projects could last from 6 months to several years and you will be the overall project manager for 1 or more projects depending on the complexity and volume of the projects.

You will have a close collaboration with the tender management department, as well as finance and procurement functions.

Focus areas:

·       Project management with full responsibility for operational performance.

·       Monitoring and controlling of contractual, commercial, and technical project related topics.

·       Engagement and project team leadership to ensure project success by utilizing team members abilities.

·       Direct communication with customers and sub-contractors.

·       Preparation and presentation of decision-making material for Steering Committees and Senior Management meetings

·       Overall QHSE, Contract and Site responsibility.

What You Bring

·       Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical, power systems engineering or similar.

·       10+ years of project management experience in the construction of complex energy projects (high voltage substations and/or FACTS projects).

·       Extended experience in working with various types of construction contracts e.g., FIDIC.

·       Commercial understanding and ability to work with complex cost and risk management concepts.

·       Knowledge of Quality and HSE management concepts and tools.

·       Customer focused and motivated to work across different cultures in an international environment.

·       Excellent written and verbal communication and leadership skills for co-working with colleagues and stakeholders with various professional backgrounds.

·       Having advanced IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Project and Autocad. 

·       Language competencies in Portuguese and English. Other languages are considered as an advantage.

·       PMP or IPMA certification is considered as an advantage.

·       Flexible and willing to travel when required.
