About the Role
A Snapshot of Your Day
As an Engineering Graduate, you will work in the Siemens Energy Grid Technologies Service team, engaging with a variety of other departments designed to develop your capabilities whilst exposing you to different aspects of real-world engineering.
You will support the energy transition in the UK and Ireland by addressing technical issues, designing new systems, commissioning new products and responding to queries related to primary, protection, control and SCADA systems. When not handling technical queries, you’ll support maintenance, deliver system improvements and improve business processes, procedures and tools.
You will have an individual training plan to develop the specific skills and knowledge required. You will undertake varied assignments across the engineering department in electrical system design, control and protection systems, cyber and operational technology and asset management. At the end of the program, you will be equipped with excellent knowledge to support you in your professional career!
How You’ll Make an Impact
Day-to-day, you'll support the engineering delivery of projects in the electricity transmission sector across the UK and Ireland.
- Developing the detailed design for the project specific requirements
- Ensure ongoing focus on product quality, project planning, cost control and health & safety
- Provide technical support to customer queries and other collaborators
- Work as part of the team or independently when required
- Assessing operational feedback and proactively engaging for appropriate resolutions
- Build and maintain close working relationships with internal business partners
What You Bring
- Graduated or due to graduate in an engineering field with a 2:1 degree or above, with a focus on Electrical/ Electronic systems or Computer Engineering
- Knowledge of modern operational technology, operating systems and communication protocols
- Knowledge of measurement and testing of electrical systems; computer aided design (CAD) tools and applications; control, protection and SCADA systems
- Ability to work on own initiative, taking responsibility for workload management and prioritisation; ability to learn new skills and techniques quickly and efficiently
- Knowledge and understanding of electrical drawing concepts
- Preferably a UK driving license holder and willing to travel across operational sites nationally
