A Snapshot of Your Day

Looking for a self-motivated, engineer with strong leadership and technical skills to join the Gas Turbine (GT) Field Operations (FO) team in the A-Region (Orlando). This position will provide technical support after shipment of gas turbines from the factory and through construction/commissioning and the warranty period of a project.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Support the GT FO team in day to day operations and product change management execution. Answer site generated issues identification and work with engineering for technical resolution.
  • The Field Operations (FO) group supports the A-Region gas turbine, steam turbine and generator issues that arise during the commissioning and warranty phase of a project. Members of the FO group develop complex processes and technical support to engineering, production, projects, and/or other departments. They have expertise in multiple engine systems (Gas Turbine/Steam Turbines/Generators) and provide engineering design solutions and procedures.
  • Potential travel to customer sites, suppliers, and other manufacturing sites to resolve technical issues. This travel will be in the Americas Region to support site readiness reviews at different projects/sites.
  • Assist matrix teams to timely resolve forced outages, recurring events, building root cause and/or solution consensus through project solving methods and leadership.
  • Support Task Force efforts, problem resolution and close out. Determine how to avoid these issues in future, document findings and present to management.
  • Develop and drive completion of plans for business development, training and developing skills for members of the GT FO team, and communication of critical issues to management.
  • Collaborate with the various engineering groups to ensure successful resolution to design/maintenance/operations field issues.
  • Present technical solutions to internal and external customers.
  • Create technical and legal binding documents intended to be shared with end user.
  • Closely coordinate with the Mulheim, Germany’s Field Operation organization to ensure that all process-related initiatives fit into the global process landscape.
  • In addition, the team also supports Fact Finding engineering to Siemens Energy organizations.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years of industry experience, in power generation field preferred. Experience in troubleshooting power plant equipment a plus!
  • Proficiency of BOP (balance of plant) auxiliary systems preferred.
  • Familiarity with root cause analysis methodologies, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Additional training and qualification will also be provided: Product knowledge of gas turbines and prior experience in design, manufacturing, or field engineering is preferred.
  • Works well together in a global organization which maintains agreed objectives for our internal customers.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
