Siemens Energy are recruiting Engineering Higher Apprentices to be based at our office in Heaton, Newcastle Upon Tyne. These new opportunities represent a new growth period for Siemens Energy and offer excellent opportunities to be part of our apprenticeship programme.

Your profile

  • Minimum age at start of apprenticeship (September 2023) to be 18 years old.
  • A Levels to include Maths and Physics is mandatory.
  • Enthusiasm for a career in engineering. 
  • Working within a team environment. 
  • Experience of a working environment in a part time job is mandatory.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable. 
  • Must be a confident communicator and proactive problem solver. 
  • Candidates ideally need to live within commuting distance to both the Heaton office and TDR College. 


What are my responsibilities?

An Engineering Higher Apprenticeship at Siemens Energy takes 4 years to complete. 

  • Year 1 and 2 will be work based with day release at college to achieve HNC. Note there will be a 4-month block release at college training centre to complete performing engineering operations (NVQ level 2). 
  • Year 3 is work based placements within Siemens Energy and the commencement of NVQ level 4. 
  • Year 4 is work based placements within Siemens Energy, to complete NVQ level 4 and end point assessment.
