Job Title – Digital Scheduler
Location - Lincoln
A Snapshot of Your Day
You will be responsible for the accurate daily logistics management of a cell output of repaired parts, ensuring the maintenance of all relevant data on the ERP and APS systems associated with all business service lines for a single plant. This includes managing the logistics of specific cell outputs and daily communication of all requirements to Cell Management, Engineers, and Repair Team Engineers. You will facilitate the resolution of problems that may impact the delivery of parts to the build line or sub-assembly process. Additionally, you will oversee complex logistics control across a series of processes within the business, covering a weekly program and using multiple repair routings per part. Your role also involves managing daily logistics outputs and maintaining digital data associated with an inventory totalling an average of £2 million.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Logistics Coordination and Performance Management:
- Oversee complex logistics control using ERP and APS systems to ensure on-time production (>95%) in specific cells.
- Manage daily logistics flow and output, facilitating timely resolution of production issues within 24 hours.
Problem Resolution and Reporting:
- Influence and resolve issues related to manning and machinery, combining ERP and APS outputs to meet daily targets.
- Report daily to the Senior Digital Scheduler on problem resolution activities to ensure on-time delivery.
Cost and Inventory Control:
- Monitor monthly performance of yield costs against targets, managing variances up to £50K.
- Control inventory of specific cell parts/sub-assemblies valued at £2m, reporting monthly on cost variances and inventory targets.
Digital Scheduling and Performance Monitoring:
- Manage daily logistics of production cells, ensuring shop floor output aligns with digital schedules.
- Provide daily and weekly performance reports, explaining discrepancies to the Principal Senior Digital Scheduler.
Communication and System Improvement:
- Communicate effectively with all shop floor levels, negotiating work requirements and priorities.
- Follow up on SAP system management to improve data accuracy, reporting monthly on performance and discrepancies.
What You Bring
Technical Knowledge and Experience:
- Proficiency in SAP production order systems and digital systems interpretation.
- In-depth knowledge of material scheduling, expediting, and production control.
- Familiarity with products used in both current and non-current engine ranges produced in Lincoln.
Communication and Facilitation:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in facilitating internal meetings and enabling the achievement of requirements.
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Capable of prioritising tasks and taking timely action to resolve issues.
Experience in Repair and Process Management:
- Experience managing repair processes and providing clear direction to work teams.
- Ability to manage differing demands from overhauls and spares under tight time constraints.
Educational and Professional Background:
- Minimum ONC in Engineering/Commercial discipline (HNC desirable) or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in material scheduling, expediting, production control, and understanding of various parts and processes.
