Your profile

  • We would like to get to know you, if you have a professional education or a degree from a university in preferably engineering or, trade, legal etc.
  • Your university degree or at least 1 year experience in the field of customs processes (import, special procedures, export, Intrastat, customs tariff and (non/preferential) origin determination) convinces us to have found the right candidate.
  • First international experience (work in international teams, work abroad) is a plus.
  • Experience in customs/ERP IT systems such as SAP, MIC, … would help you to grow fast, but is not a necessity.
  • Fluency in Portuguese or Spanish is a must. English and German language skills would be a plus.
  • Negotiation, presentation, and assertiveness are attributes that describe you the best.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for customs classification, origin management (preferential / non-preferential), Intrastat as well as for the customs clearance of goods under different customs procedures.

The main tasks for you are the following:

  • Identifying the required information for customs classification and obtaining this information from system and/or colleagues of the relevant departments such as engineering, R&D and other technical areas
  • Analyzing and classifying goods in accordance with to customs regulations and considering the technical characteristics required for classification process
  • Analysis of trade documents from suppliers, associations, and other relevant market players to correctly identify and document the county of origin of products.
  • Calculation and determination of the country of origin (preferential and non-preferential).
  • Performing the customs clearances for Siemens Energy Portugal
  • Monitoring and controlling of these operations

In this role you will follow the internal rules and regulations as established by your organization and the relevant legal entity you work for.

While performing your tasks, you always have an open mind to identify and report room for improvement and process flaws.

You actively participate in team growth efforts.

You report to the Head of Customs in Portugal.
