Siemens Energy are seeking a Commissioning and Controls Field Service Engineer working on the following product lines

You will be primarily working on:

Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, Centrifugal compressors & Rotating Equipment

Preferred core competency ideally should include knowledge and experience of various controls systems ideally on one or more of the below packages:

  • Allen-Bradley (FT100, FT125 etc)
  • Siemens Mark II,  S7 & PCS7 
  • Woodward 
  • GE Fanuc instrumentation and controls systems

Your profile

We are seeking highly motivated and experienced individuals to commission, fault find, maintain and service equipment we have supplied to our customers.

You are considered to have a professional, proactive and flexible approach to your work

Have a strong work ethic and able to demonstrate initiative, be a flexible self-starter, working with the minimum direction and have the ability to work with a wide range of people as well as be a team player.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ideally educated to degree level or have vocational qualifications in electrical and/or controls systems

You will have worked in an Instrumentation and Controls discipline, ideally on multiple controls platforms, including HMI systems and panel based electrical systems.

A desire to cross train on other product lines will be advantageous

Ability to mobilise at short notice for emergency situations as well being away from home for extended periods including weekends and Bank Holidays

Working both on and offshore when required

Hold or be able to obtain offshore working certificates

Hold a current UK driving licence

Have experience of using Virtual, RDS and tooling associated with the work

Able to interpret piping and installation drawings, general engineering drawings and controls schematics.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance tasks on Siemens Energy products 

Carry out Controls Installation & Commissioning activities on newly installed equipment.

Carry out trouble-shooting and rectifying faults 

Have an understanding of packaged and ancillary equipment.

Work Safely and in accordance with the companies written operating instructions.

To take part in product training programmes to ensure continued role competency and/or development.

Produce technical reports, based on work conducted and recommendations required to resolve customer issues, and/or improve system reliability and availability.

Take part in route cause analysis and fault diagnostics as required.
