About the Role
A Snapshot of your day
Each day involves conducting and supporting the qualification of coatings and processes for turbine hot gas path components while evaluating manufacturing data to ensure it meets design intent. Additionally, troubleshoot equipment and processes, program robots for manufacturing operations, interpret coating metallography, and manage technical projects, including drafting and revising specifications and product definitions.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Conduct and support the qualification of coatings and processes for turbine hot gas path components.
- Evaluate manufacturing data to ensure it aligns with design intent and adheres to design for manufacturing principles.
- Fix equipment and processes while programming robots for manufacturing operations.
- Interpret coating metallography and manage technical projects, including manufacturing planning and cost analysis.
- Draft and revise specifications, product definitions, and design for manufacturing philosophies.
What You Bring
- A master’s or bachelor’s degree in material engineering, process engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field is required.
- The candidate should have over four years of professional experience in high-temperature coatings and materials.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes used in gas turbine production, such as APS and HVOF thermal spray techniques, is essential.
- In-depth knowledge of high-temperature thermal barrier, oxidation-resistant, and wear-resistant materials and their properties is necessary, along with experience in offline robot programming (e.g., ABB Robot Studio, Siemens NX, Robotmaster).
- The ideal candidate should possess prior knowledge of gas turbine hot gas path components and demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, along with a highly motivated attitude that inspires others and adheres to safety guidelines.
