Your profile

  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent
  • Need to have 1-3 years of industrial-mechanical experience using CNC controls.
  • Need to have 1-3 years of industrial-mechanical experience performing turning operations; preferably lathe utilizing steady rest supports.
  • Require a basic knowledge of machine shop operations, together with the use of complicated drawings, specifications, charts, tables, various types of precision measuring instruments and/or the training generally applicable in this particular or specialized occupation
  • Ability to obtain fork truck and crane license. Prefer to have previous experience.
  • This position requires employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 unless they are granted a medical or religious accommodation.

Your responsibilities

  • Set up and operate the CNC (Complex Numeric Control) and manual lathes in order to perform various operations on a variety of parts and components.
  • Machine rough forgings and shaft final machining on product weighing from 10 up to 200 tons.
  • Position is also responsible for mentoring of employees in the Siemens Apprentice Program.     
  • Work in other areas of the campus on other products as needed.

  • You will learn additional skills related machining components and shafts for generators, steam turbines, and gas turbines.
  • Additional opportunities to learn horizontal milling machines in area.
