A Snapshot of Your Day 

The primary purpose of this position is to prepare parts, operate equipment and processes for the application of Thermal Spray on component parts. The process can be manual and include automation, combined with multiple varying parameters to produce specific thermal coating structures.

How You’ll Make an Impact

Operation and knowledge of the following is required

  • Preparation of components including masking, surface protection of surfaces from overspray, operation of Surface Preparation machines and post processing of residual overspray and surface finish.
  • Operation and control Robotics, including toolpath of robots and flow control of gas fuels. Adjustments to programs and gas flows to control desired Thermal Spray results.
  • 2-4 years of CNC experience operating robotics and auxiliary equipment.

What You Bring

  • Operate controls to initiate specific programs to activate a robot, apply associated gases and appropriate powders to produce a coating structure that meets Engineered Specifications.
  • Operate surface preparation equipment.
  • Perform necessary task to prepare and post process components that are to be Thermal Spray that may include manual masking, part conditioning, blending, etc.
  • Perform operations on equipment to maintain functionality such as adding media/powder, checking residual media/powder barrels, changing nozzles, hoses, checking fluids, alignment of equipment, checking filters, etc.
  • Interprets details drawings, sketches, blueprints, manufacturing specifications, shop routers, etc. and determines necessary tools to perform the required operations.
  • Using authorized material handling devices, loads/unloads parts from machines and/or assists crane operators
  • Load, unloads material from equipment and moves to next operation.
  • Work in accordance to Siemens values, standards, process and polices.
  • Adapts to various situations and adjusts to shifting priorities. Team player- provide assistance to co-workers, ie training, handing and/or measurements, etc.
  • Completes detailed records and other information, as required by systems (Operator Verification, product identification, etc.)
  • Maintain own work area- preventative maintenance, cleans and returns tooling, attachments, fixtures, tables, etc. to proper locations upon completion of operations.
  • Assist Quality organization with measuring, testing, charting of operational information and/or recording data
  • Follows Siemens established procedures to operate machinery/equipment Performs a variety of in-process and integrity checks (electronic or manual), as required, in order to maintain specific drawing tolerances

Other Key Requirements

  • Successful applicants must pass standard hearing, vision, and pulmonary function tests.
