A Snapshot of Your Day

The Project Engineer Crane/Lifting Systems has the overall responsibility for cost, quality and time schedule for a bid or execution project, including supplier and contract management activities.


How You'll Make an Impact

  • Full responsibility for cost, quality and time schedule for a bid or execution project, including supplier and contract management activities.
  • Be part of mechanical engineering team in a bid or execution project for power plants and corresponding decarbonized and hybrid solutions.
  • Proposal engineering: evaluation and commenting of customer specification, customers questionnaire, deviations, compilation of proposal documents, cost calculations & info regarding transport / erection for respective scope.
  • Manage and participate in execution of respective sub systems / components of power plant projects e.g. cranes, lifting equipment, elevators and auxiliary systems.
  • Evaluation of customer contract (specifications and requirements).
  • Preparation of technical specifications and inquiry documentation.
  • Coordination and optimization of interfaces (piping, electrical, I&C, layout, civil and structural).
  • Supervision of contractor time schedules and costs.
  • Participation in design review process.
  • Review of contractors engineering manufacturing- and quality documentation.
  • Coordination of the preparation of customer documentation.
  • Coordination of contractors with project and site requirements.
  • Claim Management and negotiation.
  • Supplier development and qualification.
  • Supervision and reporting of engineering hours, deadlines, quality and costs for the respective scope.
  • Trouble shooting.

What You Bring

  • College degree, preferably within the field of mechanical engineering or process engineering or equivalent combination of education.
  • Specialist knowledge in crane/lifting systems with experience in EPC market or with crane supplier.
  • Several years of professional experience in plant engineering and supplier handling and execution of international projects.
  • Strategic orientation with a detailed knowledge of products and plant components, services and markets of industrial power plant & Combined Heat and Power solution business.
  • Customer focus: capability of changing perspectives and adapting strategies and actions to the dynamic environment.
  • Ability to take responsibility for respective components/systems to provide the best solutions regarding budget, quality, and time.
  • Intercultural sensitivity, to work in (virtual) international team.
  • Capability to lead cross-functional and cross-product line initiatives, domestically and internationally.
  • Self-motivation with high energy drive and business sense.
  • Capability of multitasking, with excellent organizational skills while assuring a high-quality work process.
  • Willingness for business travels with international contacts.
  • Knowledge of respective materials, welding, mechanical processing and dimensioning of respective parts.
  • Knowledge of associated norms and standards for elevators (EN 81-xx), cranes, e.g., EN13001_x / EN 15011 etc.
  • Excellent English skills.
