A Snapshot of Your Day 
You will be a part of the transition to a more sustainable world and work in a forward-thinking team for the execution of worldwide projects for the controls of industrial steam turbines. Your day is self-managed, having in mind the project’s goals and best practices for a Turbine Controls Engineer. During your day you will have the opportunity to put into practice your skills and knowledge in a creative and innovative manner, using approved engineering practices and meeting industry standards.
While working on projects you will be also responsible for the in-company management for a mixed team of engineers and commissioning engineers which deals with project execution and commissioning of I&C systems for new unit industrial steam turbines.
Your task requires theoretical, technical knowledge of the function of steam turbines, instrumentation and control systems. Furthermore, you have gained first experience leading a team of engineers.

How You’ll Make an Impact 
  • Automation and electrical engineering for the instrumentation and controls systems of industrial steam turbines
  • Implementing and modifying instrumentation and control logics, including HW interfaces and HMIs according to customer specifications
  • Design electrical panels, control architecture, and wiring drawings/diagrams for instruments and automation control of steam turbines for energy generation
  • PLCs setup and configuration as well as other automation and control HW components.
  • Managing customer expectations and coordinating project specific concepts with internal and external engineering partners
  • Troubleshooting
  • Establishing a close relationship to our internal partners located in other countries
  • Participation in the further development of the control system for continuous product improvement
  • Carrying out functional tests on control cabinets (FATs)
  • In-company management of a team of 6 local engineers and 3 commissioning engineers
  • Develop the team and individuals
  • Personal dispatch, coordinate travel arrangements like working Visas
  • Administrative tasks such as project billing and material orders
  • Act as manager in the global Engineering community

What You Bring
  • Degree in Electrical/Mechatronic/Automation engineering, or in the field of instrumentation and control technology, power plant technology, energy technology, qualification on those engineering areas or with a personal taste and self-learning in those areas.
  • ~5 years of work experience in automation, control technology, PLC programming and instrumentation
  • Advanced user of Microsoft 365 tools
  • Experience with Ladder logic or similar.
  • Experience with SPPA T3000, SIMATIC, PCS7, S7, Step7 with CFC, WinCC or Siemens TIA Portal is a plus, but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge of the following systems is desirable: Windows 10, system knowledge, PC technology (hardware knowledge)
  • Willingness to travel to a limited extent for internal tests and customer FAT’s
  • Capability to follow processes but still be proactive and think outside the box
  • Great communication skills.
  • Fluent in English is mandatory, German is a plus
  • Ability to keep focus on all times to assure high quality in the work you deliver.
  • Easily adapt to different type of projects, teams, partners, and workload fluctuations
  • Cultural Sensitivity as we work with partners all around the world
  • Must be a self-motivated, flexible, goal-oriented person with innovation culture
