Job Title: Gas Turbine Commissioning Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Gas Turbine Commissioning Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of large gas turbines at various UK project sites and abroad. This role requires a deep understanding of gas turbine systems, strong technical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic and challenging environment.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Lead and execute the commissioning, start-up, and performance testing of large gas turbines and associated equipment.
- Develop and implement commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules to ensure timely and successful project execution.
- Conduct thorough inspections, tests, and diagnostics to verify the proper installation and operation of gas turbines.
- Identify and resolve technical issues and discrepancies during the commissioning process, ensuring compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
- Collaborate with engineering, project management, and site teams to coordinate commissioning activities and address any challenges that arise.
- Provide technical guidance and support to site personnel, including training and mentoring on gas turbine systems and commissioning procedures.
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation of commissioning activities, including test results, performance data, and any issues encountered.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulations, promoting a culture of safety and quality at all times.
- Maintain effective communication with customers, addressing their concerns and providing regular updates on project progress.
What You Bring
- Degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in the commissioning and start-up of gas turbines within the energy or industrial sectors.
- Strong technical knowledge of gas turbine systems, including control systems, instrumentation, and auxiliary equipment. (Specific model design, technical training will be given.)
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong organizational and planning abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using commissioning and diagnostic tools and software.
- Willingness to travel to various project sites as required.
