A Snapshot of Your Day
Ensure a high level of assurance by supporting and advising the business. Identify, anticipate, and manage Compliance risks. Ensure the full CO System is implemented in the respective area of responsibility. Some activities will also be required to be performed on a Hub level.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Define and implement a sustainable strategy to ensure an effective level of compliance assurance
- Be a trusted advisor to management on all Compliance topics, including the seven focus areas of compliance: anti-corruption, anti-money laundering, anti-trust, collective action, data privacy, export control, and human rights
- Ensure implementation and execution of guidelines, regulations, controls, and processes for all compliance and export control topics. If needed, drive local adaptation of the policies, processes, training, or other materials to effectively address local requirements.
- Perform spot checks, annual self-assessments and applicable RIC confirmations on hub level
- Support compliance investigations and audits in proper alignment with function owners; ensure appropriate remediation measures are taken
- Manage compliance due diligences and reviews for business partners, gifts & hospitality, Contributions, LoA activities, and any other requirements,
- Conduct regular Compliance updates with Management and ensure action items are managed
- Stay informed about important business issues by actively participating in management meetings, receiving appropriate communications, and engaging on other activities related to the business
- Keep informed about legal and regulatory developments regarding compliance and communicate with internal stakeholders. Reflect the changes in training materials if appropriate
- Escalate topics to compliance management or the business when needed
- Responsible for Compliance training and Communication to foster a culture of integrity
- Carefully manage internal and external relationships and collaboration with other functions, stakeholders, and contacts: e.g., SCM, Legal, HR, Project Teams, Project Managers, Sales Teams/Managers, Communication, Top Management of countries, IT, External Auditors, Business Partners (Consortia, Sales Agents, Customs agents etc.), main customers, main suppliers, law firms, shareholders, and other organizations or institutions, if applicable.
What You Bring
- Degree in law, business, economics or other appropriate field
- Demonstrated knowledge of legal, regulatory, and political environments in the compliance areas
- At least 10 years of experience in business preferably in legal, compliance and risk related roles
- Experience in risk assessment and strategic approach to risk mitigation
- Proven ability to independently lead and execute all facets of challenging, multidisciplinary engagements with highest integrity and ethics
- Understanding of the local regulatory environment: FCPA, UK Bribery Act, fraud and abuse statues, anti-money laundering laws, data protection and privacy laws, and export controls topics
- Demonstrated skill in working collaboratively with multiple teams simultaneously and coordinating with multi-jurisdictional and multi-cultural partners
- Excellent and detailed research and analytical skills in the areas of preventive risk management, case management, and due diligences
- Strong presentation skills: ability to manage stakeholders at all levels of the organization including Senior Management up to CEO/CFO level
- Strong intercultural sensitivity and ability to work with stakeholders around the globe
- Be bold, decisive, and courageous: Ability to see and project the big picture
- Possess a solid, effective, and constructive communication style
- Familiar with virtual communication and collaboration by using all tools and technology available
