A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Real-Time Simulation Specialist at Siemens Energy, you will be an integral part of our decarbonization mission by ensuring that the Control & Protection systems for the HVDC / FACTS systems will be fully functional before commissioned on site.
The simulation of the High Voltage Components of the HVDC / FACTS – systems like the Switchyards, the transformer and converters and so on as well as the corresponding AC-Systems will be a major part of your daily work. During the Factory Tests of the C & P systems you will execute the tests, evaluate the results and prepare the Test documentation together with the Test team.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Planning, installation, commissioning and documentation of real-time simulators
- Project-specific configuration and operation of real-time simulators within the scope of control & protection engineering and factory tests for HVDC and FACTS applications
- Execution of factory tests and preparation of test documentation as part of project handling and development of new plant systems together with the test team
- Technical handling of real-time simulators for external customers in connection with delivery and commissioning on site
- Collaboration in the preparation of quotations in the form of concept and customer clarifications and preparation of quotation documents
What You Bring
- University degree in electrical engineering with a focus on power engineering
- Initial experience in the areas of power converter technology (HVDC and FACTS), high-voltage technology, digital simulation technology as well as control and automation technology
- Basic knowledge of real-time simulation systems, preferably with RTDS or comparable (such as Hypersim, e-megasim), and of simulation tools, preferably with EMTDC, EMTP-RV or Matlab/Simulink
- Fluent German and English, both written and spoken
- Willingness to travel on business and abroad to deliver the system to the customer
- Initiative and motivation to learn, outstanding team and collaboration skills, enthusiasm to dive deeper into the field of Energy Transmission
