A Snapshot of Your Day
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive tax specialist to support our Shanghai tax team in daily compliance, reporting, and tax-related operations. The ideal candidate should have a basic understanding of VAT, CIT, SD along with hands-on experience in SAP for tax-related transactions. This role involves working closely with branch offices, ensuring tax compliance, and assisting in tax audits.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Tax Compliance & Reporting
- Review and verify branches’ input VAT transferred out, ensuring accurate tax calculations (VAT, SD, CIT, withholding Tax, etc) and timely filings.
- Track and follow up on unreceived VAT invoices and resolve discrepancies.
- Yearly support overseas SE companies for China annual SD reporting.
- Coordinate with branch offices to ensure timely submission of finance reports and tax data.
- Assist in Fixed Assets accelerated depreciation program for tax depreciation calculations and reporting.
- Collect related-party transactions (services & sales) for TP compliance.
- Prepare HNTE (High & New Tech Enterprise) statistics reports for tax incentives.
- Review non trading WHT contracts and provide appropriate tax advice (e.g., VAT implications, WHT clauses).
Tax Forecasting & Documentation
- Collect and consolidate tax cash flow forecasts for branches.
- Assist and distribute the quarterly tax newsletter to internal stakeholders.
- Maintain and update the tax intranet page with the latest regulations & policies, tax newsletter, training record etc.
- Maintain and update tax documentation, including filing invoices, contracts, and compliance records.
- Support the yearly tax workshop with administrative and analytical tasks.
Other tasks assigned by manager.
Support on various communications
- Support manager on cross-department communications with different stakeholders within the SE group company.
- Collect questions/requests from business and feedback to manager for further consulting and handling.
- Support communication with tax authorities under the guidance and supervision of manager.
What You Bring
- University degree in Tax/Accounting/Finance
- 1-2 years of tax accounting experience (fresh graduates with strong internship experience may be considered)
- SAP tax-related knowledge (e.g. FI module)
- Familiar with China tax regulations (VAT, CIT, TP, HNTE)
- Good Microsoft office skills (e.g. PivotTables, VLOOKUP, PowerPoint)
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Good communication skills to work with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Outgoing personality is a plus.
