A Snapshot of Your Day

Siemens Energy has a global supply base and is continuously onboarding new suppliers to increase our resilience and competitiveness. In this role you will be directly supporting Grid Technologies Project business by managing the qualifications of new suppliers for Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS) equipment. You will be responsible for ensuring qualifications are completed on time and identify any risks that should be mitigated as part of a qualification team including supplier quality, procurement, and engineering.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Coordinate a business unit supplier qualification program
  • Lead and support cross-functional supplier qualification teams by assessing supplier capabilities, auditing supplier quality management systems & processes, etc.
  • Build up a network of Supplier Auditors and Product Experts (guiding / leading / training of new nominated Supplier Auditors and Product Experts)
  • Coordinate yearly supplier audit program
  • Typical equipment of suppliers in scope includes MCC, Switchgear, UPS, Transformers, Disconnect Switches, Heat Exchangers, Batteries & Charging Systems, Cables, Switchyard Steel, Bus Duct, and Mechanical / Civil / Electrical Contractors
  • Monitor and ensure effectiveness of supplier quality audit process, and run various Supplier Quality Management tools and databases. Ensure data quality and transparency.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial engineering or a similar discipline. Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
  • At least 10 years preferred professional experience in a supplier quality management, procurement, or quality management in the Power Generation or Transmission Industry. Position Class can be adjusted based off candidate’s experience.
  • Strong electrical engineering knowledge and experience, and experience performing supplier qualifications
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in auditing. ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification preferred.
  • Experience in leading projects and running virtual cross-functional teams in an international environment.
  • You are a self-starter, driven and self-reliant; your organization, strategic, analytical, leadership skills and intercultural expertise round up your profile, and a willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time. Must have or be able to obtain a passport.
