A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Student Assistant in our Lyngby office, located on the campus of the Technical University of Denmark, you’ll play an essential role in ensuring the secure and reliable operation of electrical grids as wind power penetration increases.
Imagine becoming a part of the future of energy system research, while supporting our Grid Modelling team. You’ll engage in tackling real-world engineering challenges in a dynamic environment, performing simulations, and developing methodologies based on operational data. This role offers a unique opportunity to balance your studies with practical experience in the wind energy sector.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Perform simulations using RMS or EMT tools.
  • Work on small-signal stability models and harmonics.
  • Develop RTDS models for real-time applications.
  • Create methodologies based on operational data.
  • Evaluate wind turbine and wind power plant performance according to relevant grid codes.

What You Bring
  • You are enrolled in an ongoing BSc or MSc program in a relevant engineering field, with a desired emphasis on power system control and stability (candidates from related study areas are welcome).
  • Experience with modelling tools such as PowerFactory, PSCAD, or RTDS is a plus.
  • Programming skills in Python and/or MATLAB.
  • Understanding of small-signal stability and power system stability.
  • Ability to work in an international and multicultural environment.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

About The Team
Our Grid Modelling team is dedicated to ensuring the reliable integration of wind energy into existing electrical grids. We work collaboratively to address the challenges posed by the energy transition, fostering an inclusive environment where diverse perspectives are valued, and everyone can thrive.
