Software Test Engineer

A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Test Engineer you will be working closely with the Program Manager, Technical Lead, Lead Test Engineer, and Key Experts. You will create and execute test mechanisms and procedures for various tools within the existing portfolio of IBS applications, gain an understanding of the business use cases, and ensure the solution(s) are evaluated to meet these needs. You will support all quality gate activities for IBS applications and publish test reports associated with all testing performed.

How You’ll Make an Impact

·       Create and maintain manual and/or automated test scripts, ensuring they are scalable and aligned with the overall test framework.

·       Execute tests and produce clear, regular test reports for stakeholders, highlighting quality status and risks.

·       Perform testing activities across multiple system layers, including front-end, back-end, APIs, and databases.

·       Validate, prepare, and maintain test data to support effective and reliable testing activities.

·       Identify, report, and track defects, maintaining sufficient test evidence throughout the test lifecycle.

·       Ensure all testing activities related to IBS Products are documented in accordance with standards and compliance requirements.

What You Bring

·       Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, or related technical field.

·       Minimum 3 years of experience in creating, executing, and maintaining manual and automated test framework.

·       Experience preparing and maintaining Test Data, Test Plans and Test Reports.

·       Effective communication skills, both written and spoken.

·       Nice to have: Familiarity with software development languages, test frameworks and technologies including the following would be beneficial:

    • Patrol
    • Playwright/Selenium
    • Dart/JavaScript/Typescript
    • SQL
    • CI/CD pipelines
    • AWS Cloud Platform

·       Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
