About the Role
A Snapshot of Your Day
In this role, you will be part of the Service Engineering Repair team supporting refurbishment of turbine components such as blades, vanes and ring segments. You will contribute to the development, qualification and continuous improvement of cost-effective repair processes for Siemens Energy and external vendor shops worldwide. You will collaborate with New Product Design colleagues to support design reviews and Design for Repair (DfR) initiatives.
Your tasks include engineering support for internal/external factories, repair process innovation, advanced technology development, DfR development and qualification projects. By implementing innovative technologies and leading cross-functional project activities, you will help extend component life, increase reliability and reduce refurbishment costs.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Drive and coordinate repair, mods and upgrades and Design for Repair (DfR) development and qualification projects (technical and timeline responsibility)
- Support implementation of new repair technologies (e.g. additive manufacturing), provide technical shop support and process related non-conformance evaluations
- Collaborate with service, lifing & design engineering, quality and manufacturing to deliver repair and other solutions
- Follow the PDP (Product Development Process) and ensure project documentation, tracking and communication of milestones, risk assessments/mitigations and process qualifications
- Contribute to cost-out initiatives and process improvements through structured project work
- Support Quality and NDE reviews within the internal factory, external vendors and contributing to the Quality and NDE communities
- Interface with global teams and support knowledge transfer across regions
What You Bring
- Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science or related discipline
- Experience: 10+ years minimum
- Experience in super alloys, thermal barrier coating, manufacturing processes, materials behavior, design for manufacturing and/or hot side GT component repair technologies is required
- Proven ability to manage technical projects including planning and coordination with an affinity for digital tools and data-driven problem solving
- Experience with SAP and Teamcenter as well as basic programming or data analysis skills (e.g. Python, Excel VBA, SQL) are a plus
- Proactive mindset, strong organizational and communication skills for cross-functional international collaboration, customer focused, structured working style and team-oriented attitude
- Willingness to travel occasionally (up to 15%) for project and shop support activities and openness to international teamwork
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
