A Snapshot of Your Day

A railcar specialist oversees the performance of a company's railcar fleet. The Rail Specialist will support the execution team in managing all rail operations and ensures that a high quality of safe, on-time transportation service is rendered. Communicates with other Managers to work as a team to ensure quality service. The successful candidate is expected to be a self-starter and multitasker who works well under pressure and follows through on tasks. We are looking for a strong team member who leads by example and keeps the team informed of changes.

 

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Partner with cross‑functional teams, vendors, and maintenance shops to maintain uninterrupted railcar operations.
  • Coordinate heavy‑duty railcar moves and serve as a primary liaison with railroad companies.
  • Monitor fleet performance, identify operational issues, and implement corrective actions.
  • Analyze data to uncover trends, improve efficiency, and reduce operational costs.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by refining processes and operational strategies.
  • Provide on‑call support for emergencies or significant incidents involving the rail fleet, and travel to job sites or rail sidings as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with railroad safety rules, operating policies, and FRA regulations.
  • Deliver excellent customer service while managing vendor and service‑provider relationships.
  • Demonstrate initiative by proactively seeking out work, completing tasks, and following up on outstanding items.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical, analytical, or transportation‑related field.
  • 8 years of experience working with railcars, heavy‑duty railcar moves, and railroad company interactions.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and computer skills, including intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Gas Services

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
