The role of an Electrical Project Engineer in a high voltage (HV) substation project is critical to the successful design, implementation, and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment. This position involves a combination of technical expertise, project management skills, and collaboration with various stakeholders.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Develop and review detailed electrical designs for HV substations, covering switchgear, transformers, protection, and control systems.
- Prepare precise technical specifications and documentation aligned with industry standards and project goals.
- Define project scope and key deliverables while supporting effective planning and scheduling with project managers.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration across electrical, civil, and mechanical works.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and suppliers to drive smooth execution, timely procurement, and issue resolution.
- Oversee on-site installation and testing to uphold safety, quality, and compliance throughout project delivery.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline; professional certification (e.g., PE or equivalent) is an advantage.
- Hands-on experience in electrical engineering projects, ideally involving high-voltage systems or substations.
- Strong grasp of electrical systems, equipment, and industry standards such as IEEE and IEC.
- Skilled in project management, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource coordination.
- Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across teams, stakeholders, and clients.
- Detail-oriented problem solver focused on quality, safety, and project delivery excellence.
