About the Role
A Snapshot of Your Day
Plan, cost, implement and leads customer projects, according to Order Management standards, procedures, and processes, and ensures accurate Order Management operations, for assigned organizations, plants, or sites. Performs the short-term and mid-term production plans. Costing, estimating, and scheduling materials, the human resources, tools, and equipment needed for the Project to ensure OTD and cost effectiveness.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Ensures implementation of defined Order Management policies and guidelines and decides adoption of processes if necessary.
- Cost Projects as per SOW and or RFQ including all required parts, materials and special tooling included, sets targets, and plans and allocation of resources.
- Ensure quotation is completed as per process and guidelines and submitted to Customer as per SOW and or RFQ. Include listing of exclusions and Customer free issue items, include optional extras for Customer to select from in case of emergent scope.
- Manages order status, planning, and forecasts for logistics, and/or production and deliveries, ensuring alignment with respective time schedules. Input and update information into revenue forecasts.
- Initiates, maintains, and improves systems to measure order operations performance and effectiveness of all planning operations and contributes to the design and planning of monthly or weekly production program, manage customer program updates on complex orders. Refurbishment or large new part orders.
- Regularly analyses order plans, critical timelines from sales operation and double-checks respective resources, and available stocks of materials, parts and components to ensure OTD and cost effectiveness.
- Manage and collaborate with procurement and subcontractors to prevent delays and achieve priorities and customer requirements.
- Ensure OTD is achieved, and cost is within acceptable parameters and Commercial to invoice and close project on time. Inform customers and team members about progress towards delivery dates, recognize risks and implement recovery plans, give early warnings about delivery impacts.
What You Bring
- Minimum Grade 12 or Equivalent Tertiary qualification
- Must have a National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- 5-10 years relevant work experience within heavy engineering in a Job-shop environment
- Exposure to CNC, conventional lathes machines and milling machines is essential.
- Exposure to Turbines, compressors, manufacturing, and refurbishment is essential.
- Must have a proven track record of driving efficiency and full utilization of machinery and personnel.
- Both advanced practical and theoretical understanding and some significant advanced vocational experience is required to oversee and manage the diverse and relatively complex tasks within the manufacturing environment.
