A Snapshot of your Day

As a Procurement Buyer you will be responsible for handling procurement for commodities like Machining and Castings, building global supplier partnerships, optimizing processes to reduce costs and lead times, and ensuring timely delivery while addressing quality issues proactively.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Lead Procurement activities in various commodities and/or services such as Machining, Castings, Forging etc. All are managed to our company policies, procedures, performance goals and objectives
  • Establish working partnership and good relations with global suppliers
  • Work with cross functional teams to improve processes, reduce lead-times and improve delivery from suppliers
  • Support Cost and Value Engineering procurement projects to reduce cost, improve quality and reduce lead-times
  • Support the procurement team and projects related to Outsourcing and Subcontracting that support operational requirements
  • Expedite purchased parts and services for the company. This will include managing dates and comments
  • Coordinate with suppliers to meet customer requirements and the requirements of the shop floor and ensures these requirements are clearly defined and communicated
  • Develop in conjunction with proper planning function, inventory plans that insure inventory levels are adequate, but not excessive
  • Manager supplier delivery performance of 95% or better on time delivery
  • Manage customer requested delivery performance of 95% or better
  • Proactively prevent and manage quality defects with each supplier

What You Bring

  • A minimum of a 4 year degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or Technical curriculum
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience required within Procurement, Strategic Procurement, Commodity Management
  • Strong written and verbal communication in Spanish and English language
  • Highly skilled with Microsoft office products (Power Point, Word and Excel), SAP knowledge a plus.
  • Must be customer focused and a collaborative team player.
  • Ability to assess priorities, demonstrate flexibility and understand sense of urgency.
  • Self-motivated, demonstrate problem solving abilities, continuous improvement and decision-making skill.
