A Snapshot of Your Day

The Plant Head (f/m/d) of Transformer Service Repair Center in Linz, Austria will be responsible for business strategy, sales and overall project implementation and will be accountable for the strategic, general, and operational management to ensure expected service business growth. The Plant Head will play a pivotal role in managing our team, optimizing processes, and collaborating closely with clients to ensure their needs are met.

 

This role will be based at our new Siemens Energy Transformers Repair Factory in Linz, Austria, Europe.

 

The facility is planned to be built by early 2027 for production commencement. Consequently, the first part of the journey in this role in our Company will involve overseeing the construction of the factory and the implementation of new processes, as well as managing the development of a high-performance team and coordinating all aspects of the factory setup to prepare for production.

 

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Lead the implementation team with full responsibility to ensure that business objectives of the SE board-approved business case are achieved
  • Oversee the construction of the facility and the sourcing of needed equipment
  • Manage and develop a high-performance team to effectively support the business objectives and operational needs
  • Lead the Transformer Service Repair Center in Linz as a Factory Head and manage all relevant factory processes as Manufacturing, Project Management, Sales with full responsibility to ensure that business objectives are achieved, and you will be an active member of the Transformer Factory Service Leadership Team
  • Take full responsibility for your allocated Transformer Repair and Refurbishment Service Business in Europe market, you are meeting and over- achieving key financial targets, as well as having a clear understanding of the business financials in the context of the market opportunities.
  • Lead by example in all aspects, promote Company values and behaviors, and implement strategic programs; you will support the transformation and drive new topics.
  • Deliver customer excellence and drive collaborative, trusting, and strategic relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Build safety culture that always seeks to achieve Zero Harm and well-being.
  • Lead and develop the workforce ensuring a high-performance culture of business excellence and continuous improvement, with motivated employees and you will empower your local teams and grow local talents.
  • Collaborate with different stakeholders, such as our in-company transformer factories, other Siemens Energy entities, customers, business partners, and third-party sub-contractors which is key in your daily business.
   

What You Bring

  • University degree in business management, engineering or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in Manufacturing Industries, preferably in the Power Transformer sector or in the Electric and Metal Mechanical area with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level or vice-versa.
  • Strong technical knowledge of transformers and related equipment
  • Strong and experience in working with and leading multicultural local and remote teams preferable in a factory environment.
  • Proven track record of managing operations, leading teams, and driving continuous improvement.
  • Proven evidence of direct sales and after sales activities, successful project or service business execution.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets.
  • Fluency in German and English is required.
  • If not local, the candidate must be willing to relocate to Linz Austria.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the EU

At Siemens Energy we offer competitive compensation and additional benefits based on your performance, experience and qualification. Due to the Austrian legal regulations, we are obliged to state the minimum salary for this position. Please note that there is a clear willingness for a higher compensation considering your individual expectations, expertise and skills. The minimum salary for this position in the collective agreement for the electrical and electronics industry is in the amount of 79.204,72 € gross/year for a full-time position (38,5 h/week).
