About the Role
A Snapshot of Your Day
We are looking for an energetic and focussed EHS Leader with the drive to deliver excellence, continual improvement and a proactive Zero Harm EHS culture.
The successful candidate will need to work in close cooperation with the Global Service EHS Leadership, other EHS Managers across the Service Business, Service Operations and other functions within the Service Team, our Customers, subcontractors and other relevant project stakeholders.
This role will be responsible for developing and supporting Offshore Service projects, HSE processes, development of HSE competences within the Asia Pacific part of the organisation.
Creating a friendly, safe work environment through engagement, preventive methods and expert support.
Enabling high quality EHS Service and Support delivery through preventive planning and verification.
Providing transparency on EHS Performance and actions to multiple stakeholders.
This person will provide visibility of improvement areas through comprehensive root case analysis, share lessons learned and best practices from other business areas to improve overall EHS performance.
The Successful candidate will demonstrate active and visible EHS leadership with you and your team ensuring correct reporting of incidents and accidents, near misses, and unsafe acts and conditions.
The backdrop to this will be ensuring compliance with SGRE standards a relevant legislation in relation to EHS, and Service delivery.
Please note some travel will be necessary to cover the business area and Global Meetings.
How You’ll Make an Impact
General Environmental and Employee Health & Safety work encompasses activities related to the environment (including the broader community impacted by environmental hazards) and employees including:
- Lead and ensure EHS Compliance across Asia Pacific Operational Areas and Back Office.
- Provide the necessary support to Operations for safe and effective work to be carried out.
- Facilitating and Leading a Positive Zero Harm Culture Change.
- Ensuring the correct EHS resource allocations with the appropriate training and development needs in place to ensure the highest levels of support to the business.
- Driving Continual Improvement through effective use of data analysis, Lessons Learned, benchmarking, EHS campaigns and projects.
- Provide Visible Leadership, lead by example and support your team during site visits to improve the SGRE Zero Harm ethos.
- Communicate, share and learn with our customers on EHS topics. Support Campaigns and Investigations when required.
- Support Internal Business requirements as required, ie Sales, Technology and Operations etc.
- Monitor and report on EHS Performance and work with key stakeholders to achieve business KPI’s.
- Ensure effective Incident Investigations using the appropriate tools with effective outcomes to protect the business and our people.
- Ensure Audit Schedules and inspections are in place and manage the outcomes within the existing business systems.
What You Bring
- Degree or Equivalent in Engineering or HSE related subject – NEBOSH DIPLOMA or Equivalent.
- Demonstrable working knowledge of operational EHS, domestic and international HSE legislation, and industry standards.
- Excellent Communication Skills.
- Extensive Leadership Skills.
- Culture Change experience.
- Understanding of Auditing techniques and methodology. Demonstratable experience/knowledge of undertaking basic audits is highly desired.
- Understanding and utilizing of resource management skills to coordinate HSE resources.
- Understanding principles relating to efficient incident investigations and the identification of effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Demonstrable technical/wind industry Knowledge.
- IT literacy is essential with familiarity in using software such as Microsoft Word Office (Excel / PowerPoint, Word), document storage system such as Workspace and EHS System Enablon.
- Considerable experience (minimum 3 years) with operational HSE and knowledge of domestic and international HSE legislation, and industry standards.
- Reasoning and analytic skills to support problem solving.
- Experience of measuring performance against set key performance indicators.
- Experience of leading and supporting incident investigations at all levels.
- Effective communication skills across all levels, from ground workers (blue collar) to senior management.
- Proven track record in Coaching, mentoring, and influencing key stakeholders.
- Working within a global business / project comprising a multicultural workforce highly desirable.
- Travel schedule, up to 25%.
Driving is an essential function of the job and applicants ideally must have a valid driver’s license at the time of application with an acceptable driving record.
