A Snapshot of Your Day

The NDE Technician services both in-process and at final within the Charlotte Siemens Energy Turbine Services. This individual will perform non-destructive tests (NDT) on materials, manufactured items, or components. Inspects metallic and nonmetallic materials, parts and assemblies for defects using automated and manual methods and techniques including radiography, ultrasound, penetrant, eddy current, laser stereography, and magnetic particle

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Technical Skills: Ability to perform critical dimensional measurements, document findings, and meet NDE specifications using standard and special gauging.
  • Quality Management: Validate NDE paperwork in Operation Information Landscape (OIL), upload reports to SAP, and build Quality Notifications as needed.
  • Training and Teamwork: Willingness to train QA Technicians, review procedures for compliance, and collaborate with engineers on new NDE technologies.
  • Shift Flexibility: Position supports 2nd shift (4x10 Night) with flexibility for overtime and weekend work; must adapt to various turbine service tasks as required.

What You Bring

  • High School Diploma or Equivalence.
  • Must have completed the Career readiness certification requirement, required by Siemens.
  • Must be level II certified in VT, PT, MT, ET, and RT. Level II UT with experienced and certification in PAUT is also desirable.
  • At least 5 years of NDE experience in the Power Generation Industry.
  • Maybe required to travel occasionally in this position.
  • Experience with gauging, drawings, specification, standard operating procedures.
Successful applicants must be able to pass hearing, vision, and pulmonary tests through Siemens Energy’s onsite medical team in addition to CRC testing.
