About the Role
A Snapshot of Your Day
As an intern in Turbine Loads, your day involves defining and modifying wind turbine models for aeroelastic calculations, performing simulations with codes like BHawC, and analyzing loads to optimize performance. You´ll collaborate with various departments to enhance design efficiency while engaging in research and development of new technologies in the renewable energy sector.
We are looking for a self-driven Intern to support our Loads Design & Validation Department in Madrid.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Define and modify wind turbine models for aeroelastic calculations.
- Perform simulations under various design conditions using aeroelastic codes like BHawC.
- Preprocess and postprocess results ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Analyze loads and dynamics of wind turbines to optimize performance.
- Collaborate with control and component departments to enhance design efficiency.
- Engage in the development and research of new technologies for wind turbine design and validation, while supporting critical problem-solving and methods development.

- Recently graduated Engineer in Aeronautics, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or in the final stages of a master’s Thesis or PhD.
- Knowledge in aerodynamics, structural design, structural dynamics, or control systems.
- Additional training in wind energy, such as wind turbine aerodynamics and performance, or wind resource studies.
- Familiarity with wind turbine design standards like IEC61400-1 or DNVGL is a plus.
- Experience in wind turbine load analysis using programs like GH Bladed, FLEX5, FAST, or similar is desirable.
- Strong initiative, analytical skills, self-motivation, willingness to learn, emotional intelligence, and ability to work collaboratively in a team. Fluent English B2+, both spoken and written; Spanish is a plus.
