A Snapshot of Your Day

As a FS Engineer you will be responsible on leading small crews of FS techs and supervisors to supervise site activities including assembly, disassembly of mechanical components, I&C, Electrical component, troubleshooting and fact-finding tasks on gas turbines generators, steam turbines generators and associated auxiliary systems.
You will also apply advanced skills to resolve complex problems not covered by existing procedures or practices independently. Displays a high level of critical thinking in bringing successful resolution to high impact, complex, and/or cross-functional problems.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Maintain optimum interaction with FS Operations Managers, Site leader, Project Manager and Service Engineering department- in addition to customer representatives.
• Ensuring that all project related activities are planned and executed in accordance with Siemens Energy Quality and EHS standard procedures and the relevant project documentation.
• Travel to Siemens-Energy customer power plants throughout KSA and abroad to perform maintenance, repair, and modification of large steam and gas turbine generators and related equipment.
• Supervision of Electrical/Mechanical maintenance crews ranging in size from 1 to 30 persons disassembling, inspecting, repairing, and reassembling large steam/gas turbine generators.
• Lead job site safety programs and performs complex site surveys to develop maintenance plans.
• Complete and submit detailed reports covering all job activity.
• Review complex task plans, drawings, and installation schematics and provide continual mentorship throughout task duration.
• Support Site Lead PM and direct subcontractors to perform specific maintenance related tasks.
• Lead safety programs, performing maintenance on large turbine generators or with risks and hazards that require the use of practices and procedures intended to keep personnel safe and maintain a safe work environment. This includes but is not limited to use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and pre-job safety briefs or risk assessments according to Siemens Energy EHS Guidelines
• Cost effective execution of work within allocated budget and time - These calls for effective planning aimed at optimal use of resources for maximum productivity.
• Support sales and planning departments in the preparation of time schedules parts lists and all resources requirement lists.
• Participate in customer meetings and provide technical support during sales efforts.
• Identifies potential delays and minimizes their impact. Supports claim management.
• Create a fact-finding Report.
• Visual Inspections in Stator (e.g., stator enwinding, generator cooler system, stator laminated core, HV bushing load & neutral side, isophase plate adapter, flexible link & cooper bar connector, stator frame support & sealing chamber)
• Visual Inspections Generator rotor (e.g., rotor enwinding, rotor slip ring, retaining ring TE & EE side, J-Strap, axial zone block/gas baffle, collector accessory defends in the type of generator)
• Electrical test stator winding (e.g., stator winding IR/PI/WR/HV test AC or DC, stator winding thermocouple IR, stator laminated core Throubolt IR, stator bar voltage drop test, robotic Inspections (ELCID, visual & wedge test depend on the type of generator, HV bushing capacitance)
• Electrical test of rotor (e.g., rotor winding RSO/IR/WR & pole balance test, slip ring IR, bearing insulation test, collector main supply DC voltage bar insulation test)

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or similar from a reputable university
• 4-10 years of experience in Generator engineering position and had supervised a team.
• You should expect to work away from your home location an average of 200-250 days per year with about 70% travel. Individual assignments are typically 2 to 10 weeks in duration. When on assignment, working schedules are typically 10-12 hours per day, 7 days per week, day, or night shift.
• Power plant maintenance and working on large Gas Turbines Generators, Steam Turbine Generators mechanical assembly and disassembly and associated auxiliaries is an advantage.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Excellent command of English
• Able to prioritize tasks and to manage workloads in an effective manner with minimal direct supervision and flexibility in managing multiple and diverse tasks.
• Effective problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in time critical situations.
• Sensitive and responsive to the needs of different religious, ethnic, tribal, and cultural groups.
• Proven integrity and high personal standards of behavior
• Experience in working in a multinational and multicultural environment, as well as proven interpersonal skills and ability to successfully engage with diverse audiences.
• Has good working knowledge in MS Office suite
