The Mechanical Engineer position in Loveland, Colorado is a specialized position, responsible for designing, developing, and implementing solutions for mechanical equipment and processes within Siemens Energy. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, control systems, and a passion for innovation and sustainability. This role demands a deep understanding of hydraulic and electric control systems, and turbine operations. This role also supports the different departments within the Siemens Energy controls group like procurement, service project management, etc. due to the specialized mechanical knowledge.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Design and develop custom mechanical solutions for the turbine control system upgrade market including high pressure hydraulic actuators, hydraulic power units, turbine protection systems.
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, and project managers, to integrate control systems into overall project designs. Participates in the proposal process on large projects.
- Develop and maintain detailed (technical) documentation, including system specifications, schematics, drawings, and user manuals. Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
- Trouble-shoot and resolve issues related to control systems, providing technical support to internal and external partners.
- Contacts existing and prospective customers to cultivate service and/or upgrade opportunities. Assists with assembly/test activities and leads customer witness testing when necessary.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering, or a related field. 5+ years’ experience with turbomachinery equipment and/or control systems. Proven experience in designing mechanical equipment.
- Experience in the energy or industrial sector, particularly in power generation, turbomachinery, or steam turbines. Hands-on experience in assembling different types of hydraulic systems (trip blocks and actuators) in a shop.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Significant customer experience with strong (verbal and written) communication skills; collaborate across diverse teams!
- Experience with 3D mechanical design software and PLC programming a plus! Background in project management and managing multiple tasks and priorities preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours. 30% travel required.

This job may be based in Loveland, Colorado. Siemens Energy offers a variety of health and wellness benefits including paid time off and holiday pay. The base salary range for this position in Loveland, Colorado is $80k – $140k and the annual incentive target is 10% of base salary.
Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, skills, certifications, and other business needs. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual’s qualifications.
