A Snapshot of your day

This role is a replacement to ensure business continuity within the GNA O&M (Operations & Maintenance) team in Brazil. As an Entry Professional, the Engenheiro de Segurança do Trabalho will support the administration and execution of established safety, health, and environmental programs at the power plant facility. To meet this objective, the position focuses on three core areas: on-site safety monitoring and inspection to ensure compliance with standards, administration and support for EHS programs and training, and assistance in incident investigation and reporting. These activities are fundamental to maintaining a safe operational environment and adhering to regulatory requirements under close supervision. Given the focus on foundational safety practices, the ideal candidate will possess a degree in Engineering with a mandatory postgraduate specialization in Occupational Safety Engineering. Key requirements include foundational knowledge of safety standards, risk analysis, and regulatory compliance, with the ability to apply these concepts in an industrial O&M setting.

How you’ll make an impact

40% Site Safety Monitoring & Inspection

Conduct routine safety inspections and audits of plant work areas to identify potential hazards, under the guidance of senior personnel.

Monitor ongoing work activities to ensure adherence to established safety procedures, company policies, and regulatory standards.

Verify the correct use and condition of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by employees and contractors.

Report identified hazards and non-compliance issues to the appropriate manager for corrective action.

40% EHS Program Administration & Support

Assist in the administration of local safety, health, and environmental programs and initiatives.

Maintain accurate and organized records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incident reports.

Support the coordination and delivery of mandatory safety training for employees and contractors.

Explain basic safety policies, facts, and practices to personnel as required.

20% Incident Investigation & Reporting

Provide support in the investigation of workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses.

Assist in gathering information and applying basic root cause analysis techniques to understand incident factors.

Draft initial incident reports and documentation for review and finalization by a senior safety professional.

What You Bring

Required

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Architecture is required.

Mandatory postgraduate specialization in Occupational Safety Engineering (Especialização em Engenharia de Segurança do Trabalho) as required by Brazilian law.

Entry-level role suitable for recent graduates or professionals with up to 2 years of relevant experience in an industrial, construction, or O&M environment.
