A Snapshot of Your Day

As an EHS Professional (EHS), you will perform a key role to support the success of our services and projects within the Grid Technologies Service Unit in Mexico and Central America. Besides, you will be located in a service hub called the Jaguar; there you will be performing cross support to other business areas in daily EHS topics as well. 

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • By advising on EHS requirements and permissions during site and project’s activities execution (e.g. loads lifting).
  • By providing EHS data and information on demand, mandatory for internal reports within Siemens Energy.
  • By supporting incidents’ investigations and performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of near misses, in order to ensure that work procedures are observed and followed as per company’s procedures, OHSA, EPA and customer’s policies; as well as country legislation and local norms related to the place, condition and timeframe in which the job will be done.
  • By communicating regular updates about injuries and diseases prevention through mitigation measures and managing the safety technical personnel needed for project’s support.
  • By supporting on EHS reports ellaboration for internal and external customers and managing our local EHS tool named Enablon.
  • By coordinating the annual medical checkups for the operative personnel and on demand for projects executionand supporting on the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

What You Bring 

  • Bachelor degree and 2 years of formal experience related to EHS activities.
  • Wide knowledge in EHS fields, including concepts, practices and procedures. It is also required to comprehend the relevant EHS legislation and norms mandatory for Mexico.
  • Proven knowledge in organizational practices and problems solving.
  • Proven knowledge in Root Cause Analysis and incidents investigation, as well as related methodology. The knowledge about Human Factors / Yield is an advantage.
  • Desirable English language skills, reading and listening.

How You’ll Make an Impact 

  • Completion and comment on design reviews for all disciplines,
  • Completion of all pre-construction planning documentation, providing inputs and expertise. Preparation and planning associated with Site Mobilization, including Site trailer set up. 
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the construction site, including managing subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers. Work closely and coordinate Site based Siemens Energy team members, incl. but not limited to Document Manager, Project Engineer, Supervisors, Commissioning Personnel
  • Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the project schedule in a safe manner, within budget, and quality requirements, Promote the Zero Harm policies in everyday life while on the project,
  • Ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with legal, regulatory, and company requirements,

What You Bring 

  • Experience 6 – 10 years working on EPC contracts involving construction and building works in a multi-contractor environment.
  • Strong knowledge of construction techniques and principles, as well as safety and environmental regulations.
  • Proficient in project/construction management software and tools.
  • The drive and enthusiasm to proactively handle all issues, matters and challenges on the project site.
  • OSHA 30 safety training.
  • Willingness and availability to travel for long durations.
