A Snapshot of Your Day 

As a Data Governance Specialist on our Data & AI team within the Digital Core function, you will support business needs by refeining data management across the energy industry. In this dynamic role, you’ll help develop and execute the data governance framework, focusing on data maturity assessments and sustainability. You will also assist in implementing an enterprise data governance program, enabling data governance roles, and fostering new ways of working to bring data governance to life at Siemens Energy.

How You’ll Make an Impact 
  • Design and implement a sustainable data governance framework with tools, enablers and collaboration mechanisms to assess data maturity of Siemens Energy domains and support continuous improvement. 
  • Communicate data governance concepts effectively and facilitate training to enable and operationalize the data management roles in the organization.
  • Design, deliver and execute (baseline) data maturity models ensuring ongoing monitoring and alignment with targets.
  • Create and refine policies, procedures, and guidelines to mature the concept of data governance sustainability across Siemens Energy.
  • Engage with data stakeholders through the Data Governance Council to formalize decisions and plans on data governance sustainability and data maturity and gain their buy-in.
  • Support the development and maintenance of an end-to-end data lifecycle management approach; leverage the Data Management Enterprise Process and make sure our framework for data governance sustainability builds upon the enterprise data management practices
What You Bring
  • University degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Longlasting experience in Data Management in a large organization (preferably), particularly in implementing data governance frameworks in complex environments
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to clearly explain data governance concepts with practical examples.You should be able to introduce the concept of data maturity and collaborate with the business to assess and understand progress in Siemens Energy’s data governance journey.
  • Expertise in designing and implementing Data Governance with experience or very good understanding of Master and Reference Data Management, Data Quality Management, Metadata Management, Enterprise Data architecture and Data security practices
  • Understanding of technology and application landscape management in large organizations, with experience in designing processes and understanding of design principles to further embed data management in how to further build and improve that landscape, and the collaboration channels that shape it
  • Proven facilitation skills to drive progress and resolve issues within large data governance programs, with expert understanding of existing data management frameworks, tools and best practices and ability to pragmatically apply these
