A Snapshot of Your Day

HVDC technology is a core enabler of the global energy transition, using advanced converters to efficiently transmit power from offshore wind parks to onshore grids. We are seeking motivated individuals who want to work with cuttingedge HVDC systems and make a real impact in building a sustainable electrical future.

As a Controls Engineer, you will contribute to developing the control system from the earliest design stages through final validation. Your responsibilities include defining control system specifications, parameterizing interfaces with other systems, and implementing control logic in MATLAB/SIMULINK based on project and customer requirements.

You will also support loading compiled control software onto target hardware and conduct hardwareintheloop testing to verify system performance. The role focuses on higherlevel HVDC controls, with knowledge of converterlevel controls considered an advantage. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team including specialists in HMI, switchyard control, and realtime simulation and engage directly with customers as we help shape the next generation of the electrical grid

How You'll Make an Impact

  • loop control systems for HVDC converter systems
  • loop (HIL) test environments
  • Contribute to clarifying technical requirements within project teams and in collaboration with customers
  • Work closely with a dedicated team to ensure successful project development

What You Bring

  • University degree in electrical engineering, automation engineering, or a related field, with preferably two or more years of professional experience
  • Strong MATLAB/SIMULINK skills, including modelling and verification
  • Experience in developing control systems, ideally within a power systems environment
  • Motivation to collaborate in a team, learn continuously, and contribute to the energy transition
  • loop control principles
  • Familiarity with automation system configuration and strong English skills; German skills are an advantage
