A Snapshot of Your Day

As Commercial Project Manager you will be responsible to manage and perform the financial tasks of small/medium size projects in Service Operations team including project performance and operational controlling and process optimization, simplification. In this role you will be working closely with all Project Managers, Sales, Supply chain and other commercial colleagues in Australia, varied in experience throughout their career.

You are involved in a variety of activities in supporting the financial planning and analysis, such as: budget and forecast planning, month- and year-end closing activities including all relevant project management requirements eg project cost controlling, project cost /price calculations

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Ensure the correct revenue recognition and accounting treatment of contracts, variations and change orders, ensure correct implementation of IFRS15 and the Siemens Energy FRG Financial reporting guidelines.
  • Ensure accurate project cost controlling and forecasting for projects (P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow, Risk and Opportunity reporting) Contribution to improvement of project controlling tools/ practices within team/business areas
  • Ensure compliance to Siemens Energy Internal Control Systems. Participate Internal and External Audits
  • Ensure project execution structures, continuous improvement of relevant processes, procedures and tools in line with project management processes and guidelines.
  • Ensure completeness of monthly project review documents and participation to project review meetings. Ensure active project cost controlling and issuance of invoices based on project milestones and management of Accounts receivables.
  • Ensure all vendors & customers onboarding processes are organized according to predetermined timelines and deliverable dates as per project needs.
  • Review and follow up on month end tasks, forecast planning, month- and year-end closing activities, review unprocessed invoices and take necessary actions for month end closing
  • Monitor foreign currency cash flows, booking of any FX related impacts to the respective cost collector. Prepare FX application forms and update foreign currency forecasting and hedge lists.
  • Asist business managers with budget and forecast planning and/or any ad hoc tasks.
  • Data reconciliation, processing, and input, including maintaining of spread sheets as required.
  • Work within a team environment and support in the development of our tools and processes needed to work efficiently and effectively.
  • Drive forward improvement activity, whilst collaborating with other departments and internal collaborators.

What You Bring

  • You will have high attention to detail and a proactive approach to your work, with the ability to multi-task.
  • Sound knowledge of computer-based systems including Microsoft Office especially Excel is essential.
  • Any ERP systems knowledge- in particular SAP- will be highly valued.
  • Good ability to present and formulate clearly own ideas and proposals for improvements.
  • Strong personal drive to lead and accelerate with smart perception of business needs of the company.
  • You are a great teammate with excellent communication skills and a high level of personal dedication.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English.
  • Degree qualified in Business, Commerce, Accounting or Economics/ Finance with at least 3-4 years of professional experience.
