A Snapshot of Your Day

The PM Manager (PMM) is an in-office position that is accountable for the overall performance of project management execution and guidance of the designated group of Project Managers and Project Engineers within the Transformer Service PMO. The PMM sets a department direction, builds, and maintains a strong team, creates processes and maintains them, reinforces behaviors, communicates, supports, and helps the Projects team deliver. 

The PMM manages the PM team’s performance during planning, execution, and closeout of service projects, delivering projects according within baseline budgets, schedules, scope, quality, engineering standards, while reporting & tracking Non-Conformance Cost. The PMM is expected to manage the workload of direct reports and the talent development of project management team. The PMM is jointly responsible for the achievement of all financial and non-financial goals and workshare objectives of the GT SV organization.

The MOP reports directly to the Transformer Service Operations Manager and effective communication and collaboration with all managers of the Transformer Service organization is also required.

May require some travel and non-standard schedules at field locations with exposure to varying environmental conditions

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Lead and develop a team of Project Managers through clear expectations, growth conversations, everyday learning, and employee recognition.
  • Coordinate overall project planning, resource allocation, and budget planning to meet business targets.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration to improve processes, ensuring project success and adherence to quality standards.
  • Maintain proactive communication with key stakeholders and manage stakeholder relationships.
  • Monitor project status, support Project Managers, and ensure projects meet timelines, targets, and operating parameters.
  • Conduct project reviews, manage risks, and provide training and mentoring to team members, ensuring proper documentation and continuous improvement.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, project management, or a related field, with PMP certification and a minimum of 5 years' management experience, preferably in the Transmission & Distribution Industry.
  • Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level or vice-versa
  • Proven experience in managing projects, leading teams, and contract management, with strong commercial and financial competence.
  • Excellent understanding of portfolio and project management methodologies (waterfall, lean, agile) and experience with project management and collaboration software.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, capable of driving organizational goals, motivating employees, and providing support, with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate results to various levels, from executive management to customers, with strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • US Citizenship required, with the ability to attain a US Passport and DOD Security Clearance, and availability to travel approximately 20%. Must be legally authorized for employment in the US without employer-sponsored work authorization.
