A Snapshot of Your Day
As Team Lead for Sales Distributed in Malaysia, you will be responsible to manage, oversee, train and mentor the Sales Distributed team, comprising of Client Managers and Order Management professionals. In addition, you will allocate responsibilities in a flexible manner to make sure the main targets are met or exceeded in the country and help meet broader regional targets. You will represent the company externally and internally as part of the country leadership team, and as an expert on our market needs.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Business Management / Client Management
- Responsible for the entire Order Entry and Sales pipeline/ funnel of the Gas Services – Distributed business in Malaysia, across the five Product Lines for Gas Turbines and Compressors
- Directly responsible for certain accounts and/ or strategic topics with key customers, including relationship building across levels, outage planning and transparency, push for Capex decisions by the customer for modernization & upgrades, and Long Term Agreements
- Responsible for local pricing decisions, particularly on price to win, and taking into account wall-to-wall cost and profitability requirements
- Ensure and improve customer satisfaction
- Define and implement mid to long term strategy and growth plans for the business
Leadership
- Responsible for day-to-day management of the team’s activities and tasks based on business needs and development opportunities in order to meet targets.
- Responsible for training, development and growth of the team’s capabilities
- Represent the business as a leader externally to customers and internally to respective stakeholders across functions and organizations
Program Planning and Management
- Work with customers for development of long term relationships and associated contracts and service agreements
- Drive customer voice in alignment with project and execution teams to ensure customer expectations are met and promises are delivered
- Create, optimize and drive systems within the sales team (such as data quality and transparency, adoption of online collaborative tools, streamlined meetings and information exchange etc) and collaborate with other teams
- Drive and assign special projects and growth initiatives for the business
Financial Planning and Management
- Actively participate in and inform country views for budget planning and target setting activities
- Inform and participate in fleet transparency and market evaluation process
- Be responsible for reasonable forecast accuracy and pipeline
- Drive profitable growth – evaluate opportunities against cost and drive culture within the team and interfaces
- Work closely with commercial counterparts to ensure accurate and timely reporting
What You Bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum of 10 years relevant work experience & exposure in various duties/functions in complex/ matrix organizations – ideally in industries related to rotating equipment/ aftermarket business
- Minimum of 6 years experience in a senior sales role preferably in industrial application segment (e.g., oil & gas, petrochemical, pulp & paper and distributed power generation).
- Experience in leading a team of varied experience levels to consistently achieve business targets for an extended duration of time
- Demonstrable evidence of successful projects or service business execution and Contracts management experience in rotating equipment is preferred.
- Strong experience in managing and delivering on organizational priorities such as collaborative culture, EHS, customer satisfaction, people growth and development, forecast accuracy etc.
- Distinct customer orientation and ability to find and implement creative solutions
- Organized approach to pipeline management and resource allocation
