A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Senior Accountant with a passion for digitalization, you will serve as a key accounting business partner supporting Siemens Energy’s North American business units. You will provide expert guidance on complex accounting topics, including revenue recognition, project accounting, IFRS compliance, and financial reporting, while ensuring alignment between business operations, Corporate Accounting, headquarters, and external auditors. You will support the monthly financial close process, analyze financial performance, and identify opportunities to improve accounting processes through automation and digital solutions. This role requires a proactive professional who can independently manage complex accounting activities while driving continuous improvement in a dynamic business environment.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Act as a trusted accounting advisor to North American business units by providing guidance on technical accounting topics, including revenue recognition, project accounting, order entry, and general ledger activities.
  • Serve as a key point of escalation for accounting matters, ensuring alignment between business stakeholders, Corporate Accounting, headquarters, and external auditors.
  • Support monthly financial close and reporting activities, including review of financial statements, analysis of key financial metrics, and coordination with internal and external audit partners.
  • Prepare accounting assessments, technical memos, and documentation to support compliance with accounting policies, including IFRS requirements and internal financial guidelines.
  • Utilize digital tools such as SAP, Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau, and other analytics platforms to enhance reporting capabilities, improve data quality, and drive process automation.
  • Identify and implement accounting process improvements, support system enhancements, and contribute to business integration initiatives through collaboration with cross-functional teams.

What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a multinational corporate environment, public accounting firm (Big 4 preferred), or project-based organization.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, revenue recognition, project accounting, general ledger accounting, and financial reporting principles.
  • Experience with SAP (FI/CO modules), ERP systems, and financial reporting tools; experience with digital analytics tools such as Alteryx, Power BI, or Tableau is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate complex accounting topics to non-financial partners and independently manage projects.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
