A snapshot of your day

As part of basic research, you will independently carry out analytical and numerical analyses to evaluate component load-bearing capacity in structural mechanics and dynamics. They develop calculation methods and carry out basic tests that are used as the basis for the development of our high-voltage products. In close coordination with the test fields, the colleagues of the development projects and partners of the company, you will support the development of our high-voltage products.

How you can make a difference

• Carrying out structural analyses and strength assessments of components analytically as well as by means of FEM
• Implementation of optimisation measures to increase component strength, weight reduction and damage tolerance
• Preparation of standard and standard-compliant strength verifications in English and Spanish
• New and further development of simulation tools and calculation methods, including the creation of macros
• Familiarization with standards and regulations
• Collaboration and support of development and customer projects
• Support in the planning of qualification tests of high-voltage switchgear and its components
• Development of technical solutions in collaboration with the respective projects
• Documentation and communication of calculation results
• Comparison of test and simulation results
• Supervision of basic experiments

What you bring to the table

• Completed studies in mechanical engineering, physics or comparable courses of study
• Experience in static and dynamic strength calculation using FEM
• Practical experience with FEM programs, ideally ANSYS
• Analytical skills and a detailed way of working to solve sophisticated tasks
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Analytical, structured and goal-oriented way of working
• Proficient in English
