A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Procurement Professional, you will focus on the tactical execution of procurement strategies for your assigned commodities.  You will focus on internal customers and partners who can’t be successful without your contribution, timeliness, and visibility. You will work in a highly motivated team with a can-do attitude, helping and supporting each other.  You will tackle short-term/daily issues, creating huge value for our factories and customers, and in parallel, you will work with the global commodity management teams to develop and implement long-lasting improvement and development projects. You will become an expert in tactical execution, expediting, strategic negotiation, and supply chain performance management.

This role will have a strong focus on reviewing drawings/specification and identifying suppliers for the increasing work scope to support upcoming nuclear work at Siemens Energy. This Buyer will also be responsible for quoting and procuring multiple commodities such as forgings, hardware and machined parts. Assessment and development of new suppliers that align with Canadian utility and customer supply chain sourcing goals and targets of carbon reduction, EDI, Indigenous involvement, and local content will be crucial. Multi-function collaboration and support are required, and this Buyer will interface regularly with design engineering, external suppliers, CVE, global commodity management, and others.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Leading and coordinating the purchase of forgings, hardware and machined parts.
  • Review and analyze engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Review, analyze and optimize applicable project data.
  • Develop strategies for Nuclear Projects related to US and Canadian sources which includes external and internal supply chains.
  • Create, negotiate and manage Supplier contracts to achieve Siemens Energy Business requirements.
  • Quoting parts and components with nuclear requirements.

What You Bring

  • Bachelors in engineering, business administration or in related field.
  • 3+ years’ experience in Engineering, Supply Chain Management or related field.
  • Experience with SAP PD2/OPP.
  • Strong data analysis skills.
  • MS Tools with advanced Excel and PowerPoint knowledge. 
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
