A Snapshot of Your Day

In this role, you’ll interact with a wide range of interfaces including other engineering groups, external customers, partners, sales, bid management, and supplies to ensure the successful execution of various Simens Energy projects. Day to day tasks include performing engineering calculations to size various types of equipment (heat exchangers, valves, pumps, ect.), developing P&IDs, and working with the above mentioned parties to resolve challenges.

 

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Develop process engineering designs for combined cycle power plants, including flow schematics, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and mechanical equipment data sheets.
  • Interface with internal and external vendors and support reference design development and maintenance activities.
  • Lead proposal efforts from bid approval to project turnover, including technical concept development, cost calculation, and proposal creation.
  • Review customer specifications to provide process solutions and recommend acceptable solutions per technical standards.
  • Develop clear technical proposals aligned with sales strategy and business goals, while ensuring adherence to established processes.
  • Seek opportunities for process improvement and enhance financial performance of proposals while maintaining customer satisfaction.

 

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience in process engineering and/or power plant operations.
  • Experience with steam water systems and major components such as boiler feed pumps, bypass valves, and heat exchangers.
  • Familiarity with P&IDs, heat balance diagrams, and identifying sizing criteria for various components.
  • Experience with flow modelling software (AFT Fathom/Arrow or equivalent). Excellent leadership, collaboration, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to support, lead, and complete several proposals simultaneously. Ability to prioritize while working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
