Materials Laboratory Engineer
A Snapshot of Your Day
As the Materials Laboratory Engineer you will have solid understanding of chemical, physical, and electrical properties of materials to support the laboratory analysis of dielectric and metal materials used in Large Turbine Generators. You will work in the Siemens Energy Hub located in Charlotte, NC under the direction of the Generator Innovation Laboratory Manager and in collaboration with experienced materials engineers while providing technical direction to laboratory technicians. You will also provide direct and “hands-on” support of laboratory operations, operating lab equipment and providing direct support of laboratory experiments and investigations. This position is linked to the Siemens Energy engineering and manufacturing network in Orlando (FL), Ft. Payne (AL) and Germany.
This is a lead technical position within the operations of a Materials Analysis lab position where you will be working collaboratively with Materials Engineers while providing technical guidance, “hands-on” operation of laboratory equipment, and occasional mentoring to the Laboratory Technicians. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience in production of large power generation products. You will work on a variety of laboratory applications in support of the design, development, analysis, and manufacturing processes for the generator product line. It is expected that the person accepting this position would grow in expertise required for laboratory operations and continue provide leadership to the team of Laboratory technicians.
