- Use your process and material expertise to enhance PBF processes and the resulting materials, thereby broadening their application possibilities
- Define, plan, lead and implement PBF projects within strategic technology development partnerships (internal and external)
- Serve as the PBF process and material expert, engaging with various collaborators from including operations, quality, design, application and business development
- Show a results-focused approach that prioritizes customer needs
- Excellent university degree in materials engineering or mechanical engineering
- Excellent and proven knowledge in PBF-LB/M and PBF-EB/M process development and process optimization as well as in microstructural evolution through PBF-processing and post-processing
- Fundamental understanding of defect-forming mechanisms associated with PBF processing and expertise in mitigation of such phenomena
- Fundamental understanding of properties of Ni-based alloys, Co-based alloys and steels which are used in gas turbines. Additional expertise in low-density alloys (Al- and Ti- alloys) is a plus
- Autonomous working and self-initiative, critical thinking, organizational & coordination and results orientation as well as proven project management skills, and profound knowledge and experience in the execution of R&D projects, especially with multiple partners from industry and academia
- Fluent in English and excellent communication skills with internal customers and external partners
