A snapshot of your day

As a Maintenance Team Leader at Siemens Gamesa, your day will involve overseeing a team of maintenance technicians in the Wind Turbine Blade Manufacturing Facility in Hull, UK. You will ensure adherence to maintenance processes and procedures while prioritizing tasks and responding to safety and production calls. Your role will require effective communication with production teams, ensuring that maintenance work is completed safely and efficiently, and that all activities are accurately recorded in SAP.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Assign tasks to your team to adhere to the daily scheduled maintenance plan and prioritize work effectively.
  • Respond promptly to safety and production stop calls, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Complete all scheduled planned maintenance safely and efficiently, recording all work in SAP.
  • Liaise with production to ensure work areas are prepared for maintenance activities.
  • Ensure your team follows safe systems of work, including risk assessments and permits to work.
  • Conduct safety reporting and audits, utilizing tools like Enablon and Take 5’s.
  • Lead morning alignment meetings and attend relevant forums to promote safety and efficiency.
  • Manage spare parts inventory, booking out parts used and liaising with engineers for orders.
  • Maintain a tidy work area and provide feedback on documentation and process improvements.
  • Promote team communication and development, focusing on upskilling new starters.

What you bring

  • A passion for renewable energy and a commitment to leading change in the industry.
  • Demonstrated team leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
  • A minimum of 2 years of full-time employment within a blade manufacturing environment is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize work effectively.
  • Ability to work under pressure with a flexible, can-do attitude.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong IT skills, which would be an advantage in managing maintenance records and reports.
  • Confidence and competence to meet deadlines and take responsibility for your work.
