A Snapshot of Your Day
You will build and manage a Core Compressor engineering team at the Santa Barbara (SBO) facility in Santa Bárbara d’Oeste, Brazil. It is anticipated that the team will expand to about 40 people over a period of 1 year. You will build a team of designers and drafters responsible for the layout and complete drawings of Core Compressors, mainly focused on the North American heritage product lines. You will work with the global functional managers of these product line teams to coordinate the staff and workload of the SBO team. You will work with local SBO management team to support topics such as staff development, training, technical oversight, facilities, equipment and overall team morale.
This role will report into the Executive engineering manager within the Compression business and will work full time at the SBO facility.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Develop and maintain the Core Compressor engineering team at SBO
- Work with global Core Compressor engineering functional leads to coordinate local work
- Oversee the technical quality of the work produced by the SBO team
- Manage the workload within the SBO team, considering the global demands
- Gain and maintain familiarity with design and drafting standards of the various SE factories which will execute the manufacturing
- Gain and maintain familiarity with the products that will be supported by the SBO team (per the direction of the Single Shaft Compressor product line owner)
- As needed and available, support SBO in local project execution with design/drafting support
What You Bring
- Bachelor degree (B.S.) or higher in Mechanical, Industrial or similar Engineering field
- Experience in machinery design
- Experience in design processes, from concept to final design
- Experience in drawing review and drafting standards (GD&T)
- Experience in managing a team
About the Team
The SBO Core Compressor engineering team is a global team with staff in Germany, USA, India and Brazil. The SBO facility is mainly a packaging and string test facility for compression and industrial power generation trains. In addition, the SBO facility is ramping up more global functions in support of R&D, engineering, product integrity and project execution. The Core Compressor engineering team will focus primarily on global product execution and will initially focus on product layout and drafting. Team members may need to travel to other facilities for training.
