A Snapshot of Your Day
Describe in a short, transparent paragraph what a day in the life of this role might look like.
- Develop and implement inbound and outbound transportation strategies aligned with supply chain and Business Units objectives. Assure the best Transport optimization considering modal and consolidation with focus on cost, performance and CO2 reduction.
- Implement and animate Suppliers governance (MBR / QBR). Lead 3PL/4PL service level
- Handle relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers. Monitor shipment schedules to ensure on-time deliveries and resolve delays proactively
- Optimize routes, transportation modes, and load planning to reduce costs and improve performance
- Ensure compliance with international and local transportation regulations and company policies. Analyze transportation data and critical metrics to identify improvement opportunities
Collaborate with procurement, warehouse, and supply chain teams to streamline operations. Lead, coach, and develop the transportation team
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Streamline transportation routes and modes to improve performance and reduce delivery times and costs.
- Integrates inbound and outbound flows for smoother coordination between suppliers, warehouses, and customers.
- Negotiate better contracts with carriers and logistics providers. Identifies and eliminates inefficiencies like excess inventory or duplicate shipments.
- Ensures optimal flow of incoming and outgoing goods. Prevents stockouts and overstocking, helping balance working capital.
- Implements tracking systems and KPIs to monitor shipments in real time. Supports strategic decision-making with reliable logistics data. Builds solid relationships with suppliers and transport partners.
- Champions teamwork and continuous improvement across the supply chain. Deliver products on time and in good condition, boosting trust and loyalty. Reduces complaints and returns caused by logistical errors.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or engineering preferred.
- Proven experience in transport management, preferably in both inbound and outbound logistics.
- SAP Knowledge is desired
- Export Compliance knowledge is required
- Deep Trade Compliance knowledge is required
- Experience with 3Pl and 4 PL management
- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and international shipping practices.
- Proficiency in logistics software and transportation management systems (TMS).
- Previous experience working for Freight Forwarding market is desired.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage third-party providers.
- English fluency is required
- Spanish fluency is desired
