A Snapshot of Your Day

Siemens Energy in Mexico is seeking a Financial Analyst / Commercial Project Manager (CPM) for gas turbine service projects. Project entrepreneur responsible for commercial aspects, project financials (controlling & reporting) & clean books and records. Co-leading of the project together with project manager with the objective of executing the project according to the defined Project Management (PM) standards, customer requirements and the applicable Financial Reporting Guidelines (FRG). Partnership and collaboration between the CPM and the PM is the key for the overall project success.

How You’ll Make an Impact


  • Financial execution of service projects including creating sale orders and setting up project in SAP, revenue recognition, invoicing and payment terms and maintenance and controlling of project costs.        
  • Collaboration with all stakeholders especially project manager to ensure a smooth project execution                  
  • Invoice uploads in customer portals, ensuring the open accounts receivables are paid in time and as per invoice - resolution of invoice disputes                                                                      
  • Project Controlling, Forecasting and Reporting of financial status of the projects.  
  • Ensures the accuracy of project books and records and their compliance with financial guideline 
  • Key user for Project Dash
  • Ensuring procedures are followed as required to achieve zero audit findings for internal and external audits. Coordination with internal and external audit for required documents
  • Collaborating with the global and local initiatives for best practice sharing
  • Ad hoc analysis and reporting as required                
  • Work toward formal SE CPM qualification over time
  • Conduct quarterly project reviews and present the updates to management jointly with the Project Manager
  • Variance analysis, what if scenarios, and trend analysis for the projects assigned
  • Analyze and update the price escalation for the projects assigned
  • Identify, monitor, manage and present to management jointly with the project manager all commercial risks & opportunities
  • Support the sales and marketing group with data and calculations for renegotiations, change orders, upsells, etc.
  • Ensure adherence to NCM guidelines, coordinates together with the PM the proper allocation of onshore and offshore parts, compliance with relevant tax regulations, e.g., PATAC, transfer pricing, EC, local laws, etc.
  • Responsibility to comply and / or enforce the protocols, policies, guidelines, and competencies of the current integral management system (EHS, Quality) 

What You Bring

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/ Business Administration/ Accounting or equivalent
  • 1 to 2 years of professional experience in BA, Accounting, or Finance fields
  • Thorough understanding of IFRS and Siemens Energy FRGs
  • Strong skills in PC applications, primarily SAP, Microsoft Office, as well as strong analytical skills
  • The candidate should have demonstrated skills to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure to meet deadlines is required. Time management skills a must
  • Candidate should be able to effectively communicate technical financial information to non-financial internal customers
  • Fluent Spanish and English
  • Required amount of travel ~10%
  • Knowledge of Alteryx, UI Path and Tableau a plus
  • Qualified Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in Mexico

Split role supporting projects in Canada and projects in Mexico providing insight into both highly interesting markets. You will be working alongside an experienced team of commercial project managers / financial analysts, project managers, order management colleagues, contract management colleagues, planning and reporting colleagues, as well as accounting colleagues.
