We are currently looking for a skilled Engineer to join the Lifecycle Services (LCS) team which sits within the Siemens Energy Subsea business in Ulverston. The LCS team are entering an exciting period of growth to support the growing success of the business, and there we are looking to increase our pool of Field Engineers.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR DAY

Our Field Engineers are specialists who install and maintain subsea connectors at our customers sites. A subsea connector is an electrical or fibre optic component used to link various subsea systems. Historically our connectors have been deployed in the oil and gas industry, however as the business grows we are looking to expand into the renewables sector. Our connectors are designed to operate in harsh underwater environments, withstand high pressure, extreme temperatures, and corrosive elements. Subsea connectors are essential for the efficient and reliable operation of subsea infrastructure and play a critical role in the safety and functionality of underwater systems.

The role itself is a demanding and ever-changing job which requires frequent travel globally, often at short notice. This aspect alone makes this job unique and interesting but also means we are looking for someone who is flexible and can reprioritise their personal lives when it is required.

The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to collaborating well with other team members to deliver safely whilst delivering on our customer’s expectations.

We are proud to offer a supportive and inclusive work environment, where you'll be empowered to grow and develop in your career while being recognised and rewarded for your efforts.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT

To ensure you are successful in this role you would be expected to perform the following duties:

-  Install and maintain subsea equipment at customer sites, including offshore facilities

-  Provide technical support and guidance to customers, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction

-  Diagnose and resolve complex equipment issues in a timely and efficient manner

-  Maintain accurate documentation of service activities, including service reports, expense reports, and customer feedback

-  Collaborate with internal teams to provide feedback on product performance and suggest improvements

-  Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with industry and technological advancements

-  Ensure that all work is performed in a safe and compliant manner, following company policies and procedures

WHAT YOU BRING

As a Field Engineer you will bring a variety of valuable skills, experiences, and qualities to the team that contribute to the overall success of the company. Here are some key attributes:

-  Strong work ethic: You demonstrate dedication, commitment, and a willingness to put in the necessary effort to ensure tasks are completed accurately and efficiently

-  Strong experience in one or more of the following disciplines: mechanical, electrical and fibre optics

-  Excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal

-  Ability to work both independently and in a team

-  To be a self-starter and demonstrate the ability to manage time effectively

-  Willingness to travel frequently, at short notice, and to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends when necessary

-  Ability to lift and manoeuvre loads in various environmental conditions

-  Valid driver's license and clean driving record

-  Willingness to obtain various training certificates and ensure these remain valid to enable readiness for job mobilisation
