A Snapshot of Your Day
You will join the Process Digitalization Team for Grid Technologies as a hands-on Data Engineer. In close collaboration with our global manufacturing network (30+ factories), you will design, build and operate scalable data ingestion pipelines within our Factory Data Cloud.
Your focus will be on implementing robust ELT processes, integrating data from various source systems (API-based and event-driven), and ensuring high data quality and performance within our Snowflake and AWS-based environment. You will work closely with data consumers and domain experts to translate business requirements into reliable data models and data products.
This role is strongly implementation-driven and requires practical experience in building and maintaining productive cloud-based data pipelines.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Design, rollout and maintenance of the Factory Data Cloud (Data Mesh) with strong focus on data ingestions from different sources
- Comprehensive analysis regarding data and processes to define respectively align data structures (data unification) and data products
- Specific and hands-on implementation support regarding data cloud architectures and data ingestions
- Continuous optimization of data, value and process chains within the Business Area to become a data-driven, transparent, agile and efficient organization
- Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems or a comparable field
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in data engineering, including production experience with Snowflake and AWS
- Proven experience building and operating cloud-based ELT pipelines (e.g. Snowflake, DBT, Python)
- Strong expertise in API-based and event-driven data ingestion
- Solid understanding of AWS services such as S3, Lambda and Step Functions
- Business fluent English; basic German and manufacturing experience are a plus
