Your primary focus will be setting up, and operating manual and CNC horizontal milling machines and lathes will be your primary focus. Imagine working on a wide variety of parts and components that will provide new challenges where your machining skills and knowledge will be utilized every day by selecting how you a job will be completed from start to finish. A strong understanding of shop mathematics will be essential for interpreting complex drawings and specifications, ensuring that each operation meets the highest standards. Expertise in maintaining Siemens Energy equipment certifications will be crucial while engaging in detailed machining operations.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Loading and unloading parts from machines will involve using material handling devices and assisting crane operators as needed.
• Setting up machines will require selection of workholding, loading tooling, and setting parameters to meet the drawing specifications.
• Securing workpieces with various tools will ensure accurate alignment and leveling.
• Operating machines according to established procedures will involve performing a range of machining operations, including milling, drilling, and grinding.
• Conducting in-process integrity checks will help maintain drawing tolerances, with necessary tool changes and machine adjustments made as required.

What You Bring

• A background of 5-7 years in practical trades training, with strong familiarity with blueprints, CNC machinery, programming, and manual machining.
• A proven understanding of shop mathematics and experience with precision measuring instruments.
• A commitment to maintaining Siemens Energy equipment certifications and accurately completing required documentation.
• You possess a High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to manually lift up to 50 lbs. for short durations, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to work with either written, oral, or graphic instructions.
• Ability to obtain fork truck and crane licenses through Siemens Energy’s internal certification programs.
• Successful applicants must be able to pass standard hearing, vision, and pulmonary function tests or any other as required to perform the duties.

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
